You caught me.

And I’m going to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth…

But first, a couple bits of time-sensitive news you need to know about—

Oh, and hairdresser pals: You’re eligible for a free New Wash (my hands-down fave cleanser) here.

Okay okay, back to the truth:

This summer, I did the least.

It’s true. And I enjoyed some amazing success with my lazy waves.

I know, I know. In video after video, years and years ago, I did the most. And talked about all of it, every detail! And every bit was true. I’ve heard for years how all those videos and sharing that level of detail helped you springboard your own wavy hair. All those things I did certainly helped me! Not only did my parched strands come a long way, I also learned a ton.

As a result, I have at least a rough understanding of what’s on any ingredients list—be it for hair, skin, or even food. I like to know what I’m buying, despite what the branding says on the front of the package. What does that have to do with doing the least, you ask? What to avoid, mostly. And the essential ingredients to include, when you’re really paring down, as I have this summer. More on those ingredients to come, soon, but in the meantime, check out this helpful video.

And since I’ve been on a pixie grow-out journey for a few years, achieving length has been the name of the game. This summer, I stopped trying so dang hard to make my waves into curls, and everything just fell into place.

It came down to three foundational products to achieve my goals of length, shine, and definition:

And—you’re not going to believe this—I opted to mostly air dry.

Who even am I??

Oh wait, I know. I’m someone who had incredible hikes to enjoy…

I had decades-long friendships to relish and continue to build…

And I have family to have fun with and care for all summer long.

So…I’m someone who’s BUSY—probably just like you.

So, if you’re anything like me, I ask you, who has time for an hour-long hair sesh every day when there’s life to be lived and loved??

I’ll be sharing more about these products and embarrassingly simple techniques in an upcoming YouTube tutorial, so be on the lookout if you’d like to see more.

School starts this week, but I’m not sure I’m going to change my lazy-wavy routine until the temps start to fall in October/November. Any guesses what I’ll change when the season changes??

In the meantime, what did you do differently with your hair this summer? What worked, what didn’t? Did you find your sweet spot? I want to know everything. Share your tips, tricks, thoughts, ideas and more, below.

Hope to *see* you, virtually or in-person, soon!
